Senior Bookkeeper – Client Advisory

Berndt CPA LLC is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper – Client Advisory to join our growing firm. This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping or accounting professional who excels beyond transactional work and thrives in a client-facing, advisory-driven environment. You will serve as a trusted partner to clients, combining strong technical accounting skills with communication, process improvement, and technology expertise to deliver insight-not just numbers.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee accounting engagements for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
- Serve as a primary advisor and relationship manager for clients, providing proactive guidance and financial insight
- Review and oversee month-end and quarterly close processes prepared by staff
- Analyze financial results and explain trends, risks, and opportunities to clients
- Leverage accounting technology and automation tools to improve workflows and client outcomes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and advisory services
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a high-level client experience
- Mentor and support accounting staff through review, coaching, and technical guidance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or client-facing experience preferred)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and communicate complex information clearly
- Experience working in cloud-based accounting systems and technology-driven environments
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
